Harbour Wall Repointing Works

Client: Elie Harbour Trust
Location: Elie Harbour
Principal Contractor: Thomas Menzies Builders Ltd
Sector: Marine / Civil Engineering
Project Duration: 6 Weeks

Overview

Repointing works were undertaken to the external face of the harbour wall at Elie Harbour.

Due to restricted access, tidal constraints, and the vertical nature of the structure, the works were delivered using specialist rope access techniques. A dedicated rope access subcontractor carried out the repointing operations externally over the wall face, eliminating the need for large-scale access plant or ground-based scaffolding.

In addition to the repointing works, stone step repairs were carried out within the harbour structure. This included the careful removal, repositioning, and reinstatement of individual stone units weighing up to 1 tonne, requiring controlled lifting operations and precise setting to maintain alignment, stability, and durability within the marine environment.
