Overview

The project involved comprehensive site preparation for a large scaffold, including excavation to reduce levels, disposal of materials, and laying compacted Type 1 hardcore. Waterproofing was achieved through geotextile membranes, while existing paving slabs were carefully reinstated on sand beds and surfaces were levelled to falls.

Topsoil was spread with fertilizer, followed by amenity grass seeding. Temporary trenches were constructed for water, drainage, electrical, and telecommunications services, with connections made to existing mains and concrete plinths installed for temporary service boxes. Site security was ensured through the supply, installation, and removal of Heras fencing, gates, and pedestrian barriers.

Testing and surveys, including CBR, plate bearing, and GPR surveys, were carried out to verify ground conditions and locate buried services, while traffic management and certified labour ensured safe and compliant operations, resulting in a prepared, organized, and functional site ready for further construction.
